Must be my lucky place. We’d stopped at the lookout on top of Mont-Saint- Magloire (off Trail 549) in the park called Massif du Sud. Ready to saddle up, Marsha noticed coolant on the snow under her Ski-Doo Renegade. But it wasn’t a leak; the rad cap was missing!

With so many fabulous tourism regions across our wonderful nation it makes for a difficult decision to chose just one place to feature. So why not feature our own backyard! Snow Goer Canada and Stay and Ride Guide are located in beautiful Barrie, Ontario which just so happens to be surrounded by some of the best trails (we may be a little biased) in District 8 of the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs.

The thought repeated itself in my mind, over and over: “You just snowmobiled all day in -30 going God knows how fast, so I think you’ll survive sleeping on an ice bed in an ice hotel at 5 below...”

Carving the deep powder in Revelstoke, B.C. is a dream for many, but as Jeremy Hanke will tell you, that dream can quickly turn into your greatest nightmare. Being buried alive by a size three avalanche and living to tell the tale is not something a lot of people can say, and unfortunately for another young man in the same  avalanche those words ring true.

This trail is a microcosm of everything that’s great about snowmobiling in La Belle Province: highlands terrain, smooth trail, great scenery and oodles of snow.
