Kawartha Lakes snowmobile club has been awarded the Club of the Year from the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC).

Twin Mountains Snowmobile Club is based in Bobcaygeon and has been operating for 40 years. The club is one of 213 member clubs in the OFSC. It maintains 159 kilometres of trails in the Bobcaygeon area.

Twin Mountains received the President’s Award at the OFSC’s annual general meeting, held in Collingwood on Sept. 19. It is given to the “outstanding OFSC Club of the Year in recognition of its programs, events, community service and special accomplishments.”

In an email to This Week, TMSC Secretary Nadene Nicholas said the club is “very proud and honoured” to have been chosen for the award. Twin Mountains is now eligible to compete for the Canadian Council of Snowmobiling Organizations’ (CCSO) Excellence Award for Outstanding Snowmobile on the national level.   “This is truly a great honour for all of our very hardworking volunteers, landowners and members,” Ms Nicholas said.
